Each
year around 41,000 new cases of breast cancer
are diagnosed and about 13,000 patients die of
the disease. It is the single most common cause
of death among women aged 35-54. And men aren’t
immune – about 250 cases of breast cancer
in men are diagnosed each year! With your support
Against Breast Cancer can continue its unique
research into breast cancer secondary spread,
the main cause of death through this disease.
In addition to biological and immunological research
based at UCL hospital in London, Against Breast
Cancer are undertaking the largest Diet and Lifestyle
study of cancer patients in the world. The aim
is to identify factors that affect a patient’s
chances of survival after breast cancer. This
long-term observational study is being carried
out at 45 different hospitals around the UK.
We would like to thank the Regis Classic Tour
for their support and the contribution they make
to this important work.
